Straw Degradation Nanozyme

Straw Degradation Nanozyme is a revolutionary catalytic material developed by Zhongyuan Nanozyme Laboratory to address the pain points of the biomass conversion industry. Traditional straw degradation processes rely on high-temperature high-pressure, strong acid-base or high-cost biological enzymes, with problems such as high energy consumption, heavy pollution, severe cellulose damage and low efficiency. This product adopts original nanozyme catalytic technology to achieve selective cleavage of lignin in straw under ambient temperature and pressure, while completely retaining the molecular structure and degree of polymerization of cellulose and hemicellulose.

It can be directly added to the pretreatment system of biomass raw materials such as straw and wood chips. The treated cellulose can be directly used to produce high value-added products such as ethanol, xylitol and biodegradable plastics, and the separated lignin can be further processed into industrial raw materials such as carbon fiber and phenolic resin. This technology has completed pilot verification, and a 500,000-ton/year biodegradable straw product project is under planning, which can consume 2 million tons of straw resources annually with an annual output value of 8 billion RMB. With low cost, environmental friendliness and scalable production, it provides a core solution for global agricultural waste resource utilization and green low-carbon industrial development.
